About Us

Lee Blackman has been practicing law for over 40 years, representing a wide variety of individuals and artists, as well as many diversified businesses and entertainment companies.


Lee attended Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles, where he served as Vice-Justice of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International.  He was awarded the Juris Doctor degree in 1972, and sat for and passed the California Bar Examination the same year.  Lee opened his own law office in Beverly Hills upon being admitted to practice.

Prior to attending law school, Lee earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge, and attended the Graduate School of Business Administration MBA Program at the University of Southern California.


Lee is a member of the Beverly Hills and Los Angeles County Bar Associations, and the State Bar of California.  He is admitted to practice law in all of the Courts of the State of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia (pro hac vice) and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.


Lee has served as Judge Pro Tem at Los Angeles Superior and Municipal Courts; Arbitrator for American Arbitration Association, Los Angeles Superior Court, Santa Monica and Culver Municipal Courts, and Beverly Hills Bar Association; Family Law Mediator for Los Angeles Superior Court; and as Executive Director of United States Arbitration and Mediation of Southern California, Inc.


In addition to numerous letters of commendation from judges, courts and bar associations, Lee is listed in Top Lawyers in California and has received three Recognition of Experience Certificates from the California Trial Lawyers Association, acknowledging his significant experience as a Trial Lawyer.

Interviews with Lee about his creative work have been published in various media including Daily Variety, The Washington Post and The Boston Globe.


Some of Lee's creative work includes "Rescue by Chance", a true story published in Sea Magazine; TripMaster -- The Complete Checklist for Carefree Travel (Champion Publications); the introduction/biography for The Nilsson Anthology songbook (Warner Bros. Publications); the biography of Harry Nilsson for the harrynilsson.com website, and the editing of liner-note booklets for many major label CDs.

He assisted Russ Meyer, took photographs used in and edited portions of A Clean Breast -- The Life and Loves of Russ Meyer (The Hauck Publishing Company, Inc.).  Lee helped produce the Playboy video Voluptuous Vixens; co-produced and acted in a Russ Meyer video; and took the role of a hair salon customer in a television pilot starring Lynn Redgrave.

Lee spent several years working with and assisting the author of the award-winning biography, Nilsson -- The Life of a Singer-Songwriter (Oxford University Press).

Lee helped produce and is featured in the One Hour Radio Special The Harry Nilsson Special Schmecial.

As a featured guest, Lee has been seen and heard on the Internet programs Martini in the Morning and Don Cromwell Live.

Lee helped produce and is featured in the four-episode Internet podcast Final Sessions -- Harry Nilsson's "Losst and Founnd."

Lee is Executive Producer of the Harry Nilsson album, Losst and Founnd, released in November 2019.

Glamour photographs of beautiful women taken by Lee have been published in best-selling magazines in Europe and Japan.

Lee is Executive Producer of the critically acclaimed feature-length documentary motion picture, Who Is Harry Nilsson (And Why Is Everybody Talkin' About Him?), in which he also appears.  (In Entertainment Weekly, Stephen King praised the film as being "close to genius!").  

He is Executive Producer and appears in the bonus features of both the Definitive Collector's Edition and the Ultimate Blu-ray Edition DVDs of Harry Nilsson's animated movie, The Point, narrated by Ringo Starr.


In addition to his creative activities, Lee enjoys world travel; boating and sailing (he has raced to Mexico in the Newport-to-Ensenada International Yacht Race numerous times, and was runner-up Catalina 30 National Champion); photography; riding his Harleys; and playing the drums.
